Investigators say that an exchange student that was arrested for making threats against his school may have been planning a mass shooting all along.

Police in Upper Darby, just west of Philadelphia, recently discovered a 9MM handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, including bullets for an AR-15 and AK-47 during the ongoing investigation of An Tso Sun, an 18-year-old exchange student from Taiwan.

Police began investigating Sun after he warned a student he’d commit a shooting spree at the school on May 1st.  When searching Sun’s bedroom, police initially found a military-style vest, a crossbow, and other gear.  Mike Chitwood, of the Upper Darby Police Department, says, “there’s probably in excess…1600 rounds of ammunition.”

Investigators say the bag containing the ammunition and the handgun were removed from the home prior to the police search.
