A Penn State University basketball player is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mike Watkins, a forward on Penn State’s men’s basketball team, was charged Monday after Penn State Police found a metal grinder with marijuana inside of his team gym bag.  According to police, Watkins was originally being searched based on a tip that he may be in possession of an unregistered firearm.

In addition to the grinder, police found three rounds of ammunition.  Watkins claimed he didn’t know the rounds were there.  He agreed that the grinder was his and police stated he cooperated throughout the search.
