PennDOT is finalizing plans to improve mobility for pedestrians and vehicles on the Bayfront Connector.
PennDOT will add an on-ramp to head north to the city of Erie where, currently, there is only an off-ramp. And, PennDOT Design Services Engineer Tom McClelland tells us, there will be “some pedestrian enhancements with new sidewalk being shown in some different areas to allow people to connect on Buffalo Road. “
The $2.8 million project will wrap up the final design by fall; construction work beginning in 2019 once the winter weather breaks and will take just one season.
The public is invited to view the design plans at a public meeting to be held next Tuesday from 5:30-7pm at McKinley Elementary School.
