Penn(DOT) Safety Partners hold teen driver safety competition

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Mercer County’s Sheriff Office, Pennslyvania Association Safety Management Council, and Northwest Regional Safety Network held a regional teen driver competition in two locations. 

This is the 10th time both Erie and Crawford Counties have hosted the contest which will feature top prizes of $1,000, $500, $300.

The Erie County competition will challenge more than 50 students and Crawford County will have 20 students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge through a combination of slow-drive obstacle course, a pre-trip vehicle assessment, as well as written and perception tests. 

The competitions will be held on Monday and Tuesday, April 29th and 30th. The Safe Competition from Erie County at Grace Church, 7300 Grub Rd., McKean 16426. The second competition on Tuesday will be held in Crawford County at The New Beginnings Church, 13226 Leslie Rd., Meadville 16355. Both events are scheduled from 9:30AM-11AM.
