PennDOT talks $1.4 million dollar bridge project in Waterford Township

Local News

PennDOT hosts a public meeting to discuss a $1.6 million dollar project.

The meeting held to discuss the replacement of the bridge over Trout Run on Route 19 in Waterford Township. The project will take three months to complete and include a 10 mile detour. Construction is set to begin in the summer of 20-20.

“We are replacing it with a prestress box beam bridge with a wider roadway. The sidewalks plan to be eliminated and replaced. The two shoulders are going to be six foot two which is wider than what they have now for pedestrian and bicycle traffic,” said PennDOT project manager Bob Bell.

Several residents were on-hand to voice their concerns. Bell says those concerns will be considered and another meeting will be held if needed.
