Teachers in Pennsylvania could soon be armed.
The Pennsylvania Senate passed a bill that would allow teachers to carry firearms.
Approved by a 28 to 22 vote, the measure would give school districts the option of developing a policy to allow trained school personnel to carry firearms on school premises.
The bill requires school personnel to have firearms training and pass a psychological exam.
That legislation now goes to the house for consideration.
The house is not expected to consider it until after the summer break.
