The city of Erie’s Perry Elementary School is one of 10 finalists in a national competition for a new playground

The top five videos with the most votes in the Let’s Play contest will receive a $20,000 grant to buy new playground equipment.

Perry is currently not in the top five.

The students at Perry Elementary School produced a video that put them in that top 10 spot.

Jackie Bull, a teacher at Perry Elementary is asking for your help by voting for their school.

“Our schools were built 100 years ago and it was to promote community,” Bull said. “Our playground is the only one within a mile, so the playground is vital to the community. There’s no swings. Our slide has been destroyed.”

You can vote online for Perry Elementary School once a day through June 24.

To vote, go to  and find the event title Let’s Play Video Contest. Find Perry Elementary – Perry Kids Need To Play. Then ‘Like’ the Let’s Play Facebook page to be directed to the voting page.
