A plastic pollution expert is in Erie hoping to encourage the public to reevaluate their relationship with the non-biodegradable material.
Dr. Sherri Mason is speaking at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center tonight. She’s giving the public an overview of her five years of research on plastics pollution within the Great Lakes.
Dr. Mason says Plastic is found in every species of fish studied, in bottled water, and even in our beer. “Everywhere we look we find microplastics… everywhere… it doesn’t matter. You know, I guess what’s kind of surprising in addition to that is just the quantities in different kind of compartments.”
Mason’s presentation is tonight at TREC. Doors open at 6:30 and it’s free and open to the public.
