Plea agreement offered in intentional fire case

Local News

A woman charged with intentionally setting her Erie home on fire was offered a plea agreement in court today.

41-year-old Julia Calipo is charged with arson and insurance fraud for the fire at her home in the 200 block of East 32nd Street. Police believe she burned the home for insurance money.

During her preliminary hearing, Calipo was offered a plea agreement that would drop 2 counts of arson and one count of fraud.

But one count of arson and insurance fraud are waived for trial.

She is in jail on a reduced $50,000 bond.
