An empty space downtown will finally be transformed.
The extra space near 915 State Street will be made into a park for locals to enjoy. The mural in the space was added in the spring. An official park name has not been selected, so right now, the park is just being called the ‘Palace Pocket Park’. Pocket parks are urban spots located between two buildings.
Marketing Coordinator, Lisa Songer, says, “we’re very invested in downtown and want to see the improvements and so many great things are happening in Perry Square. [It] looks beautiful; we just want to carry that down state street. “
The work on the park will start on Saturday at 8am.
