Pennsylvania State Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the death of a Harborcreek Township woman.
The woman, who was identified as Sandra Orton, 60, died from a gunshot wound from a .22 caliber rifle following an argument with her grandson on Tuesday morning.
Police have arrested 14-year-old Hunter Riley Reeser, who is believed to be the victim’s grandson. Reeser is being charged as an adult with criminal homicide, murder of the first degree, aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime.
Reeser was arraigned before District Judge Mark Krahe and is currently in the Erie County Prison.
Resser’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 2.
Orton was found outside of her Harborcreek Township residence around 7:40 a.m, according to a press release.
Police have secured the area along the 9000 block of Sawmill Road off of Moorheadville Road in eastern Harborcreek Township.
Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook confirmed that an autopsy was started Tuesday afternoon, but is not releasing any more information at this point at the request of investigators.
