A Fairview man is charged with another cold case homicide and police think there may be many more to come.

At a late morning news conference, state police in New Castle say that Regis Brown may have been involved in as many as 6-8 additional homicides in this corner of the state over the years.

Brown is already in jail for the deaths of his wife and stepdaughter in Fairview in March.

Recent evidence including interviews with Brown reveal he is also been charged with the 30-year-old cold case death of Bryce Tompkins found shot to death in a Lawrence County Creek in 1988.

Detective Joseph Vascetti, of PA State Police, says, “He’s either been arrested for or confessed to or is a strong suspect in 8 homicides right now in the northern part of the state from Lawrence County to Erie”.

Police say there isn’t a lot they can say at this point because a number of these cases are still under investigation.
