Police take bullet-riddled car after shots fired on East 25th Street

Tense moments in the city of Erie as bullets ring out in broad daylight.  

Erie Police are investigating a shooting in the 400 block of East 25th Street.  The first call came in around 12:40 this afternoon, reporting multiple shots fired.  Witnesses telling police that a gold-colored vehicle was seen chasing at a white Ford Taurus and shooting at it. 

The occupants of the Ford Taurus ditched the bullet-riddled car in an alley between East 24th and East 25th streets.

People who live in the area tell us they're shaken by what happened.  One neighbor says, "Every single house here that was within the blast zone has children living it. I don't even know how comfortable I feel about my kids sitting in the front yard anymore."

Police believe that the people that were shot at left the scene in another vehicle.  Investigators collected the Taurus and seven 9-millimeter casings as evidence.

No injuries were reported to authorities.
