Power restored to Erie County residents after brief outage

ERIE, Pa. — A power outage left more than 12,000 Erie County residents in the dark Monday afternoon.

According to Penelec, 12,956 customers were without power as of 3:56 p.m.

Millcreek Township was the most affected area with 4,148 without power. Penelec reported 1,563 were without power in the city.

Power has been restored to most areas affected by the outage as of 4:30 p.m. 

The cause of the outage is unknown.
