While the big-box stores are wrapping up Black Friday, local companies are preparing for their main shopping day tomorrow.
Thousands of shops will be opening their doors for Small Business Saturday.
Experts say more and more independent retailers are relying on the event.
One of the businesses preparing for the large crowds is Glass Growers Gallery on East Fifth Street.
The artist of the year, chosen by Erie Arts and Culture, will be greeting guests in the shop.
“The most exciting thing about tomorrow is that we will see customers that sometimes we only see once a year because we’re the place that Erieites bring their family and friends who are visiting from out of town. We’re the place they wanna show off and we try to live up to that standard every year,” said Deborah Vahanian, the owner of Glass Growers.
The City of Erie and EMTA are teaming up to provide a trolley service tomorrow.
