Presque Isle Express wraps up its free service tomorrow, but will be back

Local News

The Presque Isle Express is wrapping up its service around the peninsula for the season.

Tomorrow is the last day riders can take advantage of the free shuttles.  One of those shuttles runs from Beach 11 to WaterWorks; the other runs from West Erie Plaza to Beach 11.

Jeremy Peterson, Director of Operations at EMTA says this year they saw an increase in ridership from last summer and that the free service will definitely be back.  “Next year, we’re looking to run the same thing; we were pretty successful… maybe incorporating… weekend service or maybe some type of modification to the times. “

The shuttle began its run on June 12th and, again, wraps up tomorrow.

EMTA says those dates are dependent on their contract with the Erie School District.
