Presque Isle State Park officials have issued a swimming advisory for Beach 1, Barracks Beach and Beach 9 due to elevated E. coli bacteria counts on Tuesday.
Beaches under advisories remain open to the public, but beach users are asked to use caution while swimming.
The advisories will remain in effect until a bacteria count of 235 CFU per 100 milliliters or less is obtained.
The count for Barracks Beach was 380, while Beach 1 was 558 and Beach 9 was 260.
The advisories only affect the listed beaches, the park’s other 10 regulated swimming beaches are open for swimming.
Testing of swimming waters is performed twice weekly for public safety.
Presque Isle officially opened its beaches for swimming this weekend.
