Protesters say they don’t want tax dollars used to fund border wall

Local News

Protesters from French Creek Indivisible gathered outside of Representative Mike Kelly’s office for their ‘Build Bridges Not Walls’ rally.

Over a dozen protesters holding signs stood holding signs, asking that Kelly not approve using tax dollars to fund building the border wall.  They were also asking for a demilitarization of the border.  This is making headway now due to a bill funding coming up that would allow the remaining money to be allocated to projects like the building of the wall.

Event Organizer Lydia Lythe tells us, “throwing tear gas at little children is immoral and unacceptable and we don’t support that sort of action against these people”.

The group says that they hope that Representative Kelly does not vote in favor of allocating the money to the construction of the wall.
