Public talk on Electoral College scheduled at Behrend

Local News

Penn State Behrend is hosting a free public talk on the Electoral College after this historic presidential election has drawn so much attention to the process.

This year’s election was the fifth in U.S. history where the winner of the popular vote lost in the Electoral College and never made it to the White House.

Rob Speel, a political scientist at Behrend, will be giving a free public talk at the college Tuesday night on why the Electoral College was formed, and according to Speel, why it no longer serves its intended purpose.

That talk starts at 7 p.m. in Room 180 of the Burke Center on Behrend’s campus.
