The 21st annual Race for Recovery hosted by Gaudenzia Erie was a huge success, according to organizers. This year, there were over 200 runners who raised over $20,000 for treatment at Gaudenzia, a new record for this event. The race aims to end the stigma that surrounds addiction. So many families have felt the pain of losing a loved one to addiction. This event also raises awareness about treatment options in the area. Jason Kiesielewski with Gaudenzia Erie expressed why he thinks this event is so important. “To be able to do an event like this every year its really important. Not just for the clients and staff but I really think for the community as a whole to show that we’re coming together and reminding people that there are treatment facilities like Gaudenzia that can help people get the help that they both need and deserve,” says Kiesielewski.
