Record-setting time set for 100-foot banana split

Local News

A local group of churches has set a world record for the fastest 100-foot banana split ever.  inspired by a news story he saw about the longest banana split, which was 8 miles long, Pastor Matthew Dennison, of Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in North East was inspired to set a record of his own.  “They thought I was crazy,” he tells us, laughing.  “But we did it!”

All-in-all, the split was made from about 19 gallons of ice cream and about 30 pounds of bananas.

The group also sold t-shirts to raise money for an organization known as Ramps of Hope.  Ramps of Hope helps people in the Erie area to get wheelchair ramps built.  The group raised nearly $1,000.
