Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper wants to remind county residents that need assistance that assistance is available.
This assistance is for both renters having trouble paying rent, utilities, and other household costs, and for landlords trying to stay afloat.
On July 28, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) released a new online resource to help renters and landlords find available assistance. This rental assistance look up tool can be found on their website at consumerfinance.gov.
Renters and landlords can visit the CFPB’s Rental Assistance Finder to find out what help they may be eligible for and the steps they can take to access assistance.
The CFPB’s site also includes resources to help renters and landlords understand other resources to help navigate various financial hardships related to the pandemic.
We want to reduce the risk of homelessness for our most vulnerable residents as they financially recover from the economic devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper. “We are committed to ensuring this funding is accessed by those who need it.”
The Erie County Rental Assistance Program is being administered by Erie County Care Management (ECCM).
To date the program has paid out over $8.3 million and there is still over $9 million in funding available. Those who are interested in applying can visit eccm.org or call 814-823-5512.
