Repeat DUI’s may soon be considered a felony as a new bill moves to the House

Local News

Penalties could be increasing for repeat drunk-driving offenders.

The proposed DUI legislation passed in the Senate back in April and is now moving on to the House.  The new bill would treat repeat DUI’s as a felony.  Repeat offenders would also be looking at more jail time for homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence.

Supporters are hoping the House will vote on the bill before the upcoming election.
