Retired law enforcement officer to run for County Executive

Local News

ERIE, Pa. — A retired law enforcement officer is throwing his hat in the ring for County Executive.

Tom Loftus is running on the Republican ticket in hopes to be the next Erie County Executive. He is a retired corrections officer and says his main platform is to fix the gun violence in the area.

Loftus ran for County Executive four years ago but says he believes more people are frustrated with the gun violence now and are seeking the changes he plans to bring.

“People are more tired of the gun violence and we need to do something different,” Loftus said. “So I came up with a five-point plan. I am passing that out to people and getting the word out there.”
Loftus made his announcement at the site of a recent homicide at East Sixth and Parade streets.
