Many see “Erie’s Wild Rib Cook-off & Music Festival” as the start to Erie’s summer festivities. This year’s event is sure to start the summer off right with 10 bands, 8 rib teams, an award presentation, and a Kid’s Zone to offer fun to everyone.
The event will be held at 626 State Street at Perry Square Park, in downtown Erie. The dates are Wednesday, 5/31 through Saturday, 6/3. The teams will be open and slinging their barbecue on Wednesday & Thursday, from 11am-10pm and Friday & Saturday, from 11am-11pm, and admission is free!
There are 8 different competitors vying for best ribs and sauce. The official judging takes place on the main stage, Friday at 5:30pm, but you can vote all day, everyday for your ‘People’s Favorites’ ribs and sauce until Saturday at 6pm. To cast your vote, simply go to the Cricket Wireless booth (the official “People’s Choice Sponsor”) and you can enter for a chance to win the ‘Rib Fest Party Pack’. The ‘People’s Choice’ winner will be announced Saturday on the main stage, at 7:15pm.
The teams this year are as follows:
Carolina Rib King
