A new ride added to the Erie Bikefest line-up honors fallen officers. The Blue Knights International Motorcycle Club, made up of active and retired Law Enforcement Officers, is sponsoring the ride.
Millcreek Supervisor, John Groh, of Millcreek Police Deparment, says it’s important to recognize officers killed in the line of duty. He will join nearly 300 bikers on the ride around Presque Isle. “Sadly, in the Erie area,” says Groh, “there have been officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. We have to take time and recognize them and their sacrifices that they have made.”
The Law Enforcement Memorial Run is open to anyone. It is happening tomorrow (Tuesday) at Saint Jude’s Church. Registration begins at 3pm and bikers will depart immediately following a blessing of the bikes, around 5pm.
