Ripley woman dead after train slams into her SUV

Local News

A woman is dead after a train slams into an SUV.  It happened yesterday on Goodrich Street in Ripley, New York around 3:30pm.

According to the Jamestown Post Journal, 58 year old Marilyn Triana was killed when a westbound CSX train struck her vehicle.  That vehicle was then thrown 150 yards, then rolled and caught fire.

The article mentioned that there were no gates at the crossing, but there are lights.  They believe she may have been distracted by another train that was passing a different direction and did not see the train heading towards her.

Our condolences to friends and family.
