Roadwork in the region, plan ahead for your commute

Local News

Your commute could get a little tied up, as road work is underway in the region.

The $1.2 million project includes milling and resurfacing Route 6 in Union City, all the way to the intersection of Route 89 and King Road in Wayne Township.

Pavement markings will be updated as well, along with guiderails; drivers will see lane restrictions.

The project should wrap up by the end of October.

And, work continues on both lanes of Interstate 79.  The work is affecting traffic just north of the Erie-Crawford County line and south of the Old State Road overpass.

This project is a $3.2 million undertaking.  The northbound and southbound traffic will be limited to one lane.

And, nighttime lane closures will be in effect on Interstate 79 in Crawford County starting August 21st.  Both lanes of northbound traffic will be closed from 7pm to 7am through August 29th, excluding the weekend.

The closures will be in effect from Exit 141 to Exit 147.
