A new machine is bringing a unique taste of Italy to coffee and espresso drinkers in Erie.
Romolo Chocolates is unveiling their brand new Venus Bar coffee machine, a state-of-the-art copper creation that took six months to be handmade in Italy.
The Venus Bar machine is designed specifically for espressos, cappuccinos and lattes, and is now serving up the perfect steamed, hot beverage.
One of only two machines of its kind believed to be on the east coast, Romolo’s owner Tony Stefanelli said the machine is reminiscent of how Italians brewed their coffees and espresso back in the early 1900’s.
“The positioning of the boilers is reversed because of the style of the machine you were able to get a very frothy espresso,” said Stefanelli.
Stefanelli said the eagle on top of the machine symbolizes Italians’ sense of victory after World War I, and represents how espresso used to be made back in the early 1900s.
