The Brookhouser Road Bridge that carries Route 198 over French Creek in Saegertown Borough, Crawford County, will be closed starting Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

The closure is necessary to make modifications to the bridge due to damage caused by the winter weather. The eastern roadway approach to the bridge will be altered and an expansion dam added to reduce damage caused by cold weather temperatures. Repairs will also be made to the bridge wing walls.

The contractor, Clearwater Construction Inc. of Mercer, PA., will work on an expedited schedule to complete the work by late October 2018. Separate car and truck detours will be posted. The car detour will use Grange Center Road, Gospel Hill Road, and Route 6/19. The truck detour will use Interstate 79 and Route 6/19.

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
