Route 20 bridge in Erie County closed

The Route 20 (Ridge Road) bridge in Girard Township, Erie County, will be closed from 8 PM today, March 11, until 6 AM Tuesday, March 12, as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project. 

The bridge will also be closed daily from 8 PM to 6 AM Monday nights through Friday mornings. The weeknight closures are expected to start at 8 PM March 18, 2019, and end at 6 AM, May 7, 2019.

A detour will be posted using Route 18, Interstate 90, and Route 98.

When the closures are not in effect, travel will be restricted to one lane in both eastbound and westbound directions. 

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 860 traffic cameras.
