State Representative Ryan Bizzarro is hosting a flu-shot clinic tomorrow from 11am-1 p.m. at his Millcreek office, 1101 Peninsula Drive.
Bizzarro said he hosts the annual event to ensure flu shots are given in a safe, convenient location to those who are most vulnerable to the influenza virus. “I’m hoping residents in the 3rd Legislative District highly consider attending this event and getting a flu shot, if you haven’t done so already,” Bizzarro said. “Last year’s flu season is a prime example as to why you should get this shot annually, especially if you suffer from underlying health conditions that make you more vulnerable to the flu.”
Bizzarro’s flu-shot clinic is hosted in conjunction with LifeWorks Erie. Those who wish to receive a flu shot at this event should bring their insurance cards. LifeWorks Erie will bill residents’ insurance providers.
According to the state Department of Health, influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat and lungs. It can cause mild to severe illnesses, including death. The Health Department recommends receiving an annual flu shot to best prevent contracting the virus.
