Drivers traveling West 12th Street noticed a mallard duck hovering over a drain on the busy road at the intersection of Pittsburgh Avenue.
Some drivers stopping, noticing seven ducklings had fallen through the drain.
After calls to police, the Millcreek Streets Department and Tamarack Wildlife arrived on scene.
A team member from Tamarack says they had to first capture the mother duck.
They used her duck call to help lure her seven ducklings.
Bob Hartman says, “So we needed to keep all the people quiet and the machinery quiet to make sure that we got them all.”
Jamie Lord says, “I was down the drain I saw seven babies down in there so then I start calling people.”
Our very own Sean Lafferty stopped to help on his day off.
The lucky ducks are all expected to be ok.
