Santone sworn in as new fire chief

Local News

There’s a new man in charge of the city of Erie Fire Department.

Chief Fire Inspector Guy Santone was sworn in as fire chief Thursday morning.

He succeeds Tony Pol,  who served as chief since 2006.

Santone has been with the Erie Fire Department for 29 years.

“All of the men and women on the job, they do an excellent job,” Santone said. “There’s nothing they can’t do which makes my job easier. Like in any job there will be some issues, but we will deal with them as they come. I’m excited.”

John Widomski will become the new chief fire inspector.
