Search Continues In Washington State for Samantha Sayers

Massive Search Continues For Samantha Sayers.

The search continues for 28-year-old Samantha Sayers outside of Seattle, Washington. Sayers, a former Erie County resident, was last seen August 1st, near the summit of Vesper Peak, east of Seattle. Another hiker who reported seeing her, said she left headed to the south, rather than heading east back to the trailhead parking lot. Using the established trail, it’s 6.6 miles from the peak to the parking area. Vesper Peak, at 6200 feet, is a climb that’s recommended for experienced hikers only but was within Sayers abilities and experience.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an extensive search, including helicopters with thermal imaging, boats patrolling the shores of nearby lakes, aerial drones with high definition cameras and ground crews. On Wednesday the 8th, search teams reported finding a boot print off-trail they believed to have come from Sayer’s hiking boot but since then it was reported to not be a sign of Sayers, according to the family.
