A group doing work in the city’s schools will soon change their focus to help other non-profits locally.

Serve Erie is gearing up for their fourth and final year doing work inside Erie schools. The organization has done major projects with the help of thousands of volunteers and community partners.

Now, they’re looking to the future to determine where in the community their efforts could best be put to use next.

Marcus Atkinson, Executive Director of ServErie, tells us, “You’re talking about bringing in thousands of volunteers, thousands of dollars, thousands of donations of various types.  Who wouldn’t want to be the recipient of such philanthropic energy?  We just don’t know what it looks like yet.”

Serve Erie will be working on Joanna Connell School this July. From there, the board will determine how to select their next project.
