Sheetz comes to the city of Erie

Local News

The city of Erie is getting its first Sheetz on West 38th and Liberty.

In the next year or so, the south east and the south west corner of Liberty Street along West 38th Street will be getting a makeover.  The plans include moving the Little Caesar’s Pizza across Liberty Street to the vacant lot (a former car wash site).  That Little Caesar’s will be larger than the current building with a drive thru.

Once that move is complete, the Sheetz construction will begin.  The gas station on the south west corner and the Little Caesar’s building will be torn down to make room for the Sheetz.

This is a development that has been in the works for nearly three years now.  The owners of the property are definitely looking forward to bringing new life to this intersection.  “It’s a dense area.  It’s already a developed area so a lot goes in to it working with different parties to make sure everything pans out,” says Joseph Vendetti, Attorney.

The hope is that it brings more attention and development to the area.

Construction should begin sometime before the end of July.
