Dribble, shoot and score!
Shriners Hospital of Erie hosting a six-week wheelchair basketball program. It is designed to let individuals with or without disabilities play the game on an equal playing field.
Recreational therapist Kristin Maguire says this program promotes recreation for everyone. “This is a way to adapt an activity where kids who use wheelchairs or have special needs that they need a little extra help. It helps them participate. It also gives an appreciation to our visitors who come to see some of the skills our kids have developed over the years.”
Wednesday’s game was played between the Shriners Jammers and the Eerie Roller Girls.
