In a celebration of wellness in mind, body, and spirit, the Sight Center of Northwestern PA hosts their annual luncheon at the Ambassador Conference Center.
This year was a little bit different as the meeting was open to the public. The organization hopes to bring more awareness to their mission of not only helping those who are blind, but also preventing blindness; as they gear up to celebrate 80 years in Erie.
They say that Erie is considered one of the blindest communities in the country. Linda Hackshaw, Executive Director of Sight Center, NWPA, says, “anyone can lose their vision, its not about being poor, its not about a disease that runs in your family, anyone can lose their vision so that is one of the things we feel very strongly about letting the community know that we are here for both prevention and care”.
