Does weather pique your interest? If you like watching the storms roll in, you can become a SkyWarn Spotter.
Our colleague, Meteorologist Tom Atkins, is the instructor for a training tonight and you’re invited.
SkyWarn training class participants will learn about different types of severe weather, the threat to your safety, and weather information sources.
SkyWarn Spotters report weather information to the National Weather Service to improve forecasts and severe weather wearnings.
The training is open to HAM Radio Operators, Police, and Fire Personnel, Dispatchers, EMS Workers, Public Safety Workers, Hospital Workers, and concerned citizens.
The presentation is tonight at 6:30 at the Hirt Auditorium inside the Blasco Memorial Library.
