After a smooth and quick transition, the new Public Safety Building in Meadville is up and running.
All of the Public Agencies in Crawford County are finally under one roof. That includes 911, Emergency Management, the Coroner, and other related programs.
The $3.6 million Public Safety Building took about a year to complete. The transition, though, happened in only four hours. Kevin Nicholson, Public Safety Director, tells us, “We had the old location, the new location and the backup site staff the entire time. Everything went without losing a call or losing a dispatch. It was a very smooth transition.”
The new site is about 8,000 square feet and features a multipurpose room, new radio consoles and a garage for the emergency vehicles.
