It was a great morning for a walk and the students at Saint Luke School took advantage and walked to school. Today is National Walk to School Day.
This is an annual tradition for the Saint Luke students. They began at the JC Martin Golf Course and walked along East 38th Street to the school, a little more than a mile walk. Fourth Grade Teacher, Victoria Bayle, tells us, “In today’s society, a lot of kids are leading a more sedentary lifestyle. This gets them up earlier and exercise. As far as pedestrian safety they have to learn how to cross streets and even parents tend to slow down too”.
This is the twelfth year the students walked to school on this National Walk to School Day.
