State of Emergency declared in Washington following measles outbreak

Local News

A State of Emergency has been declared in Washington State as the number of confirmed cases of measles climbs to 35.

Public Health Officials are saying that there are also 12 suspected cases.  They also believe dozens more may be infected and not showing symptoms yet.

The numbers are expected to grow due to the fact that public exposures have been pinpointed to large places like the Trailblazers’ Arena, the airport, schools, COSTCO, and IKEA.

Those same officials warn of the highly contagious nature of the disease and note that most of the infected are probably children whose parents decided against vaccination.
