Things got a little bit stranger on the campus of Penn State Behrend this evening.
That was thanks to David Harbour, one of the stars of Netflix’s breakout hit series, Stranger Things. Harbour on hand to speak to students about his experience and career as an actor and artist. He spoke about the struggle to maintain confidence and conviction to a career in the arts, likening the work to that of a craftsman. He calls his message about art “a fabric of ideas.”
“Bringing people from the outsides kind of in and letting them know that they are not alone and that life is a scary, strange, vulnerable thing that we are all doing and I think artists kind of bridge that gap for a lot of people and so, I think it’s a valuable beautiful pursuit,”said Harbour.
Harbour was nominated for an Emmy for his work on Stranger Things. Tonight’s event was part of the Penn State Behrend Speaker Series.
