For the past two weeks, more than two dozen high school students from the tri-state area have been learning all about biological science in very unique ways. The Gannon University Regional Summer School of Excellence teaches students all about the Lake Erie ecosystem, coastal zones and its challenges.
Today, the students took a ride on the Environaut through Presque Isle Bay to collect samples fokr testing in a one of a kind laboratory experience.
Greg Andraso, PhD, Gannon Biology Professor, says, “the focus of the program is to introduce students to environmental issues and tie in with health concerns.”
The Summer School of Excellence has been teaching students free of charge for the past 30 years.
