Superload move delayed again due to permit problems

Local News

There is another delay in plans to move a huge transformer through the city of Meadville.  A permit issue is causing the hold-up on the move.

The load is a 340,000-pound combination of trucks and equipment that can only go two miles per hour.  Edwards Moving and Rigging of Shelbyville, Kentucky is doing the move and has said they will update us as to when the move is rescheduled.

When it happens, the load will enter the city over the Mead Avenue Bridge and head south on French Creek Parkway.  That leads to a tight turn on Linden Street and another turn south on South Main Street before continuing to Cochranton on Route 322.
