Surveillance video captures Parade street homicide

A 26 year old Erie man is dead after a shooting incident at the Shell Station at 605 Parade street.

Erie Police were called to the gas station around 1:30 Sunday morning.

Chief Don Dacus confirms surveillance footage captured the entire incident showing a physical fight breaking out between two people leading to multiple shots fired.

The gun shot wound victim who has not yet been identified was taken to UPMC Hamot by a third party and was later pronounced dead.

Police recovered the vehicle that drove the victim to the hospital and brought the driver in for questioning along with two other witnesses.  Police say no one is cooperating with the investigation.

Police also recovered a vehicle they believe belongs to the suspect. That vehicle, was reported stolen and was found in an alleyway near Wallace and Ash streets. They believe that car may be involved in a shooting that happened minutes after in the 500 block of Cherry st.

The surveillance footage gave police a good picture of the shooter. They believe they may have an identification however, no arrests have been made.

Police believe 12 people were at the gas station at the time of the shooting and are asking anyone with any information to contact police at 870-1120.

This is the first homicide in the City of Erie in 2017.
