Work has begun on Tamarack in Crawford County. The Lake has been dry since 2012 when it was emptied by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission as a result of a leak in the dam.
Equipment is in place now and contractors are clearing away brush and trees that have grown in the dried-up lake bed. This summer, dam repairs will take place on the two dams that form the lake. The work is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
Tamarack Lake is 562 acres in size and is located three miles southeast of Meadville.
