Some good news for those of you planning to cook out over the 4th of July holiday. It will cost Pennsylvanians a little less than the national average.
The PA Farm Bureau has compiled its annual list of the costs of a full cookout for 10 people, including everything from hamburgers and hot dogs to the ketchup and mustard. The result? Pennsylvanians can expect to pay $51.15 for their July 4th cookout, which is down from the national average of $55.07.
The bureau says the lower prices are good for consumers, but not for farmers, who only make eight cents of every food dollar.
