The holiday season is a busy time of year for shipping companies. We take a look at how local operations keep up during the holiday rush.
With less than two weeks until Christmas, shipping handlers such as the UPS Store on Peach Street have their hands full. There’s an almost constant stream of people shipping and returning items in time for Christmas according to employees there.
It’s organized chaos, but these professionals say they enjoy playing the role of Santa’s Little Helpers.
Christopher Fanzini, UPS Store Manager, says, “I really enjoy working here. It’s a good feeling to be able to help people. A lot of people have a hard time finding boxes or they don’t have time to pack things. It’s just nice when they can come in and say ‘can you guys take care of this?’ and I can say ‘yes I can.’ “
The price to ship goes up the closer to the holiday it gets. The very last day to ship in time for the holiday is December 21st.
